Bausch+Ströbel is continuing its international expansion and has opened a new facility in Pune, India. Under the name Bausch+Ströbel Technology India Private Limited, the site combines a modern engineering hub and a production plant. With this step, the Ilshofen-based company is strengthening its position in one of the world's most dynamic pharmaceutical markets and laying the foundation for further global growth.
India plays a key role in the strategic development of Bausch+Ströbel. The country has an exceptionally high level of technical expertise and offers a wealth of highly qualified engineers, particularly in mechanical engineering, automation, and IT. At the same time, the Indian pharmaceutical sector is growing rapidly: global demand for safe, high-quality medicines is increasing, as are the regulatory requirements for production processes. An increasing number of pharmaceutical companies are therefore investing in modern technologies and reliable partners—an environment in which Bausch+Ströbel can apply its strengths in a target-oriented manner.
The choice was deliberately made in favor of Pune, a city with over three million inhabitants that is considered the “Oxford of the East” and is one of the country's leading technology centers. Pune combines outstanding educational and research institutions, modern infrastructure, and a wealth of skilled personnel. According to the foreign trade agency Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI), more than 300 German companies are already active in the region—further proof of its appeal as an industrial hub. For Bausch+Ströbel, Pune offers ideal conditions for combining engineering expertise and production capacity in close proximity to customers.

The new Engineering Hub is fully integrated into the company's global structure. It brings together design know-how, automation, IT, and technical documentation, and works closely with the German locations in Ilshofen, Jahnsdorf, and Crailsheim. Intensive knowledge transfer and training at all facilities ensure that uniform quality and development standards apply worldwide.
The new facility in Pune brings Bausch+Ströbel closer to strategically important customers in the Asian regions. Physical proximity creates shorter routes, more efficient processes, and enables even greater direct support for regional markets.
With its expansion in India, Bausch+Ströbel is sending a clear signal about its future capabilities, customer focus, and innovation. The new facility represents the next step in the company's international development—and its clear objective of remaining a reliable partner for pharmaceutical production worldwide.
