Bausch+Ströbel highly pleased when looking back at interpack in Düsseldorf
Bausch+Ströbel concluded the interpack exhibition in Düsseldorf with four machine contracts for a total of about 2 million Euros with customers from Arab states, China and Greece. One of the orders was for a complete filling line for eye drops. According to Markus Ströbel, Managing Director, purchase orders were not the main focus at the exhibition. As all the equipment supplied is highly complex and mostly customized, orders are preceded by lengthy discussions and preparations. "This means that the purchase orders signed at the exhibition were only the icing on the cake", says Markus Ströbel, smiling. The core aspects of participating in the exhibition are getting in contact with new customers, intensifying relationships with existing customers and, of course, presenting new developments.
Here, Bausch+Ströbel is also highly satisfied with the outcome. "We counted slightly fewer visitors than in 2014", says Eberhard Betz, Sales Director, "but we had clearly more discussions about imminent projects". Moreover, more visitors came from abroad - especially from overseas countries. The customers were particularly interested in flexible production systems. Bausch+Ströbel has visibly met the market demands by offering VarioSys, a system that combines a special isolator with various machine modules and allows fast change over, for example, from filling syringes to producing ampoules. In addition the customers took an interest in the KCP, which owes its flexibility to two cleanroom robots for container transport and up to four flexibly configurable processing stations.
Production reliability was another topic raised by customers. Hence, the presentation of the new after-sales services was met with great interest. Industry 4.0 was a big topic all over interpack and many discussions evolved around the related technologies at the Bausch+Ströbel stand. One of the presented features was its virtual reality center: It allows discussing drafted designs at virtual machine models or conducting accessibility studies and air flow simulations. Moreover, operators can be trained at the virtual machine even before the real equipment is in operation. In the end, the Bausch+Ströbel exhibition team concluded that the participation in Düsseldorf had again fully paid off. The company has been an exhibitor since the 70s, recalls Siegfried Bullinger, Managing Director. Smiling, he recounts that the company first presented itself in a tent at the new exhibition grounds which bears no comparison to the modern halls today. 2017 is a special year to Bausch+Ströbel, as it marks the companys 50th anniversary. For this occasion, the exhibition management presented a huge birthday cake on the last day of the exhibition.
