Zukunft schenken - Bäume pflanzen

"The average German generates 11.1 metric tons of carbon dioxide per year (German Environment Agency, 2016). A mature, healthy tree can produce enough oxygen in a single day to sustain ten adults (naturefirst). An 80-year-old beech tree is known to absorb 40% more carbon dioxide than a fir tree, according to the Bavarian State Institute of Forestry, and can annually sequester about 12.5 kilograms of greenhouse gases, as reported by the Forestry Center at the University of Münster. Donating sufficient funds to plant 888 beech trees can, therefore, contribute to achieving climate neutrality for the entire lifespan of at least one human being."

To promote climate neutrality and ensure a sustainable future for our children, Bausch+Ströbel is an active contributor to the fit4future initiative. Employees, family members, and other interested parties have the opportunity to acquire trees and become tree patrons. The sale of trees to employees of Bausch+Ströbel began at this year's company summer fete.

Acquiring a tree involves planting the seedling and caring for it for a minimum of three years. Bausch+Ströbel will donate one additional tree for each tree acquired, effectively doubling the number of trees acting as carbon dioxide sinks. The planting of the trees will commence in the Ilshofen area in the spring of 2024. Our goal is to raise an entire forest.
