// Taking Responsibility for a Better Future ///

Our products make an important contribution to global health. By this fact alone, we consider it our duty to align our business activities with a more sustainable future.

Our actions have always been shaped by our strong regional roots and our family-oriented corporate culture. With this in mind, Bausch+Ströbel aims to play a pioneering role in fostering social awareness, creating added value for society, and establishing regional value chains.

Our Vision of Sustainability

Unsere Vision
Taking on responsibility has always been one of the guiding principles of our company management. From the very beginning, over 50 years ago, when the company was founded with the idea of building a machine for the quick, safe, and efficient filling of medical substances into easy-to-handle containers, responsibility has been at the core of the company's philosophy. As a family business, we have consistently embraced a cross-generational approach to our thinking and actions.

Sustainability is, therefore, an integral part of our long-term corporate strategy, exemplifying our commitment to people, the environment, and society. In our pursuit of  sustainability, we collaborate with the pharmaceutical sector to enhance global access to high-quality medicines for all. This sense of responsibility is the moral compass that has guided us to this day. It is the driving force behind our innovations, serving as a catalyst for our research and development efforts, an essential element of our corporate DNA, and is also reflected in our Sustainability Management Policy.

Our Sustainability Mission

Recycling, climate-neutral energy supply, and water conservation are the key milestones on our journey toward greater sustainability. The social aspects of sustainability are firmly anchored in our employee development strategy, our recruiting process, and our "B+S-Step" remuneration system.

Our goal is to systematically optimize every single one of our processes for sustainability, an ambitious and challenging undertaking. For us, this is only viable pathway to sustainable success – one where our actions are shaped by a high level of responsibility towards preserving the quality of life on our planet, both for the current generation and the generations that follow.

Our Sustainability Policy

Nachhaltigkeitspolitik
At Bausch+Ströbel, our core focus revolves around five key pillars: Future, Transparency, Nature, Society and Region. Our objective is to create products and deliver our services in an environmentally responsible and eco-friendly manner.
Our business practices are firmly grounded in the principle of identifying and evaluating both present and foreseeable risks and opportunities, including those that may arise in the future. This approach enables us to effectively safeguard the environment and society while maximizing our potential for sustainable growth. We aspire to take an active role in shaping our future, actively engaging our employees and partners in this endeavor.
We provide regular, comprehensive, and transparent reports on the progress of our sustainability initiatives within our company. These reports include not only progress updates; they also outline the challenges we still face, our objectives, and the steps we need to take to attain these targets. We welcome open dialog with all social groups, share sustainability-related information with the public, and collaborate closely with authorities, associations, and other institutions.
We have a duty to our employees as well as their ethical treatment and social needs. It therefore goes without saying that we uphold human rights and prioritize suitable working conditions, while also holding our suppliers and partners to the same standards. We firmly oppose child labor, exploitation, discrimination, and corruption. We actively promote diversity and equity in all spheres of society, striving for a harmonious balance among diverse social interest groups.
As a long-standing family-oriented company deeply rooted in the Hohenlohe region, we embrace our responsibility for providing safe and fairly paid jobs. We are committed to working on an ongoing basis with our employees, works councils, regional authorities, associations and local institutions to cultivate an enriching environment that fosters safety, continuity, and respect for human dignity. This commitment applies equally to all regions and locations where the Bausch+Ströbel Group operates through its own facilities.
As a globally active company, we hold a special responsibility for the preservation of the natural environment and the efficient utilization of valuable resources. For this reason, we are committed to working in support of UN Agenda 2030. Our objective is to reduce our environmental footprint and safeguard ecosystems, all while preserving biological diversity. A central focus of our efforts is continuously enhancing the sustainability of our products, services, and processes. We strive to use natural resources, raw materials and energy as efficiently as possible while considering the entire value chain, aiming to recycle materials to the greatest extent feasible. We actively engage our employees, suppliers, and customers in this ongoing process.

Klimaschutz

Intensifying our commitment to climate protection

By working towards a sustainable energy supply for the future, we are committed to helping mitigate climate change. We are committed to systematically reducing absolute CO2 emissions at our locations. For several years, we have been implementing measures to enhance energy efficiency and promote the use of eco-friendly power at our locations. We will continue to forge ahead with the use of renewable energy from our own installations.
Kreislaufwirtschaft

Our ambitious recycling goals

Recycling stands as the only sustainable solution for addressing the challenge of finite resources. This entails establishing an ongoing usage cycle for all reusable materials while minimizing waste generation. In pursuit of this objective, we will strive to minimize waste generation, improve our internal resource management infrastructure, and place a stronger emphasis on sustainable supply chains.
Wasserschutz

Towards sustainability in water recycling

The cornerstone of sustainable water management within our company lies in optimizing water use, preventing water wastage, mitigating pollution, and maximizing recycling across all processes.
