Bausch + Ströbel directors gaze into the "crystal ball"
The 40th birthday of the Bausch + Ströbel pharmaceutical packaging machine works was not just a sparkling party, it was also an occasion to look into the future...
Ilshofen. When presenter Dirk Denzer tried to probe Director Siegfried Bullinger on the subject of what the immediate future might hold, the latter looked into the crystal ball before saying with an audible groan, "What I've just promised already costs me enough..."
This must have been noted with satisfaction by the employees among the nearly 1,600 guests at Arena Hohenlohe. Not only has "their company" grown in terms of manpower in its 40-year life, from 3 to about 860 employees, with new building extensions continually being added in recent years - but on top of that, their boss just saw "a big assembly shop with a crane".
There's no doubt that business at Bausch + Ströbel has been good in the last few years. The company has very clearly made its mark on the town of Ilshofen - all the way to the Park Hotel, where customers and guests are accommodated and which also supplies the company's catering requirements.
"Lots of new buildings" was what Director Markus Ströbel saw, when he was asked to predict the future, along with "good figures" and "lots of trade tax" to fill the mayor's coffers. Meanwhile his father, company founder Rolf Ströbel, was counting on the "great workforce", which he saw as a keystone of continuing success.
The world market leaders are hardly likely to run out of ideas, as the maxim of always having at least a two-head lead over the competition was seen as a prerequisite for continuing long-term success. Thus, B+S' success has certainly been remarkable.
