In the second week of February the largest project of the Ilshofen machine manufacturer up to now was dispatched from the workshop.

The major order which was loaded for shipment in the middle of February amounts to approximately 19 million Euros. In this respect, the new filling line is the largest project in company history.

It took five years to develop this innovative and ambitious project for a North American pharmaceutical company. The main feature of the drug to be manufactured is the fact that it comprises two components: a liquid and a powder.

The processing of this drug is extremely difficult - particularly as the concept is groundbreaking and it is hardly possible to resort to past experience.

Approximately 14,000 cartridges per hour are filled with the two components by this future-oriented machine. The special composition of this drug - further details as well as the name of the customer are subject to confidentiality - are to facilitate the administration of the medication for the patient.

The delivery of the 60-ton technological marvel cleared substantial space in Ilshofen - in the workshop as much as 400 square meters were reserved for the whole production line. Four semitrailer trucks were required to accomplish dispatch. The biggest segment had to be delivered to the customer on a special aluminum airfreight pallet - the commonly used wooden transport crates were too small.

By the way: production of the state-of-the-art drug is planned for 2011, and it will be available in Germany from 2015 on.
