Wide scale investments

The company Bausch + Ströbel extends its Ilshofen headquarters
There is no sign of resignation in the face of the economic crisis at Bausch + Ströbel. On the contrary: a total of 3.5 million Euros have been invested in the buildings in 2009.
The manufacturer of special machines in Ilshofen has made massive investments again in 2009 - in buildings, in modern machine tools, in the development of the product range and last but not least in its own personnel. In the Spring the extension to the assembly building was opened and now Bausch + Ströbel is adding three floors to the existing engineering building. In all, the company has invested 3.5 million Euros in buildings. In addition the premises have been extended by a further two hectares of land for future expansion. A further 2.9 million Euros have been spent on factory and office equipment, and the Ilshofen company has also purchased technical equipment and machinery amounting to over two million Euros.
The building extensions were urgently needed as the company has grown continuously since it was founded in 1967. The manufacturer of packaging lines for the pharmaceutical industry now employs almost 900 people, with an upward trend. Since the restructuring of the company ownership in August 2007 the number of employees has grown by approximately 100.
Bausch + Ströbel has also intensified its involvement abroad, e.g. by opening a sales and service office in Russia. Training the next generation has high ranking with those responsible at Bausch + Ströbel. This year 37 young people started training so that now 117 young people are in training at Bausch + Ströbel.
The company has numerous experienced employees that have been with the company for many years. This year 61 employees were honored by the directors for jubilees (10, 25, 40 years) - more than ever before . The company has eight employees that have been with the company for 40 years or more and have therefore been with the company almost from the start. Rolf Ströbel und Siegfried Bullinger, the founding directors of the company, set an example of such loyalty to the company. For their entrepreneurial commitment they were awarded the medal of merit of the Schwäbisch Hall District by the head of the District Council, Gerhard Bauer.
As the year draws to a close, Bausch + Ströbel is also satisfied with the business results. Despite the economic crisis the directors are reckoning with a turnover as in the previous year. The company participated in the major German trade fairs for the packaging industry - the Achema in Frankfurt and the Fach-Pack in Nuremberg - as well as in numerous exhibitions world wide. At present the pharmaceutical industry particularly esteems the manufacturer's know-how in the field of cartridge and syringe processing. The management is already making plans for the coming year, e.g. for an extension of the machine assembly area.
